The PPP1R2 Antibody from MyBioSource.com is a Rabbit Polyclonal antibody to PPP1R2. This antibody recognizes Human, Mouse, and Rat antigen. The PPP1R2 Antibody has been validated for the following applications: ELISA, Immunohistochemistry, and Western Blot.

Description

Description: PPP1R2 a member of the protein phosphatase inhibitor 1 family. A dopamine-and cyclic AMP-regulated neuronal phosphoprotein. Both dopaminergic and glutamatergic (NMDA) receptor stimulation regulate the extent of DARPP32 phosphorylation, but in opposite directions. Dopamine D1 receptor stimulation enhances cAMP formation, resulting in the phosphorylation of DARPP32; phosphorylated DARPP32 is a potent protein phosphatase-1 inhibitor. NMDA receptor stimulation elevates intracellular calcium, which leads to activation of calcineurin and dephosphorylation of phospho-DARPP32, thereby reducing the phosphatase-1 inhibitory activity of DARPP32.
Function: Inhibitor of protein-phosphatase 1.
Subunit Structure: Heterodimer with PP1.
Post-translational Modifications: Phosphorylation on Thr-73 by GSK3 activates PP1 by dissociating the PP1-PPP1R2 complex (By similarity). Phosphorylation on Ser-44 by ATM activates PP1 by dissociating the PP1-PPP1R2 complex.
Similarity: Belongs to the protein phosphatase inhibitor 2 family
